Virginia Hood

MA, LPC

I am originally from Nashville, Tennessee, and I lived in Vancouver, B.C. for a few years before calling Colorado home. Prior to my career in counseling, I worked cross-culturally with individuals and families in non-profit program development. Building on this background, I decided to become a counselor because I love the depth of possibilities that the counseling process offers, and I believe in its ability to bring about lasting change for those who seek such transformation.

So often amidst the storms of life, we need people and places that help us stop and pay attention to what is going on inside of us. But our “insides” can be difficult to navigate alone. I know what it’s like to not feel good enough, and to feel overwhelmed, lost, depressed, and anxious. I have experienced counseling as a haven amidst the storms in my own life, and I am passionate about facilitating the healing process. I do this by offering my presence in times of need and pain, by helping you find language for your experience and emotions, and by offering concrete tools and skills to move forward.

A few words that clients, colleagues, and friends have used to describe me are steady, intuitive, dedicated, and empathic. I look forward to learning more about you, and how we can work together to meet your counseling needs.
